November 29th 2010
I hope every one had a great Thanksgiving and a good trip home, the weather here has been cool at nights and worm in the day time the water temp is in the mid 60's the lake level is holding at 303 ft the fish will start to relate to creek channels and ledges following the shad from now on the talapia will also will be getting deeper they don't like cold water and the bass will be close to the big schools.

My brother Tomas and his two boys Tomas and William fished with me and we had a great time just like always, we fished under the town bridge and had a good mess of fish to frywe started at 9 am fished till noon we had Bream, bass, and Crappies all on light tackle and jigs my brother even went swiming they were both fighting a 15 in bass and it pulled him in and little Tomas got the fish.

Today i took my wife Norma fishing we left the shop around 9 am and got back before lunch she landed a nice 7 pound 3 oz bass and had three other to the boat i checked some areas and fish are starting to feel the change in water temp,if you find rock close to any drop or ledge this fish will be close to it for it holds the heat and craw fish and is a awesome winter pattern just look for big rock and some 6 to 14 ft of water ledge.

Falcon Lake is starting to draw more people in for the fishing is great, there is a all woman tournament that got started this past week end is called the Falcon Lake Babes and they will have there second one on the 12th of December and is CAT FISH only they weigh one fish per person.

Today I am going to take my brother Tomas and his two boys fishing they been here for the last3 days and they are ready to go catch them

Fished with Jerry and Bob for the last three days and man did we catch some Hawgs! on saturday we had more then 36 bass and Jerry started on with a 9 pound 04 oz but he was on a roll he landed another 7pound 11 oz and a two heavy 7's bob got busted off with a huge fish and then he had a 7.08 pound hog on the bite was great for about 3 hours and about 150 pound of fish total and all on the Bass Kandi baits 5 in speed bugs watermelon red,red bug and plum apple in about 12 ft of water.

Sunday it started a bit slow you know how fishing is we started around same area and landed some fish we had about 7 bass by 9 am and the day before we had over 30 by that time, that's what makes fishing so mush fun, pulled up trolling motor and ran to another area fished some flooded brush had some good ones wraped us up in the trees did managed to land a heavy 7 and after we got out on main lake the wind had layed down,we hit the offshore areas and found some good fish that made up for the slow we start landed about 18 and called it a day.

Monday I drove to the State Park Bob and Jerry were all pumped up we had gotten on the fish about 2pm the day before and we had some unfinished fishing to take care of,fished a creek channel early and then got to the area we started catching fish the day before we started on football jigs and then switched over to a Carolina Rig in about 22 ft of water, rigged the foot ball jig with a 5 in speed bug in the LCT special with a 1 oz penutbutter and jelly Pepper jig,the rig was a 6 in watermelon red Kandi Minnow and mag flukes we landed about 42 fish and had 4 over 7 two over 8 and the rest were 3 and heavy 4's with a bunch of heavy 5's.

The water temp is at 68 to 70 deg the lake level is at 303 the fishing is on track for this time of year the fish are starting to stage in key ares.I am ready for cold days and great fishing we had 103 fish total and over 500 pound of bass in three days of fishing Bob and Jerry had a blast!!!!!!

November 18th 2010
The water temperature is on the way down and we are having 50 deg nights it's like the early start of the winter pattern.

Lots of fish still are forming schools and once you find an area they are close by.Fished with Bruce on the 17th and got on the water about 7am we were using a new bait that a good friend is making Mike Holland has come up with some great baits that Falcon Bass will destroy BASS KANDI BAITS,we started with the 5in speedbug in the red bug and then the action started when the fish takes the bait you better be holding on to your stick.

Bruce landed about 12 fish we lost a couple of hawgs in the brush,we left the area and started fishing some deep water, fished a couple of spots with good results. All the fish we landed offshore were in the 4 to 5pound and we fished one spot that had a lot of small bass we left that schol and headed for some different water.

With the cold front coming and the moon rice about 1 pm i like to play the moon we got back to an area that is holding some fish and the fish were going on a frenzy we started catching as soon as we got there till we called it a day and we landed over 40 bass....

Falcon Lake is a great Lake if you go by the time of day and the moon phase and the weather is perfect you are in for a good time,if you like to learn to fish falcon or just come and have a good trip give me a call,956-765-1442 for reservations.

November 14th 2010
Water temperature is slowly dropping and it's down to 70's the lake level is holding at 303 ft,water is not as clear but we had some windy days that is why some folks are doing good on spinner baits.

Fished with Hugo Galindo and son and there friend George the fishing before a cold front some times is a bit slow but we managed to catch some nice fish they had a great time!

Front blew in Saturday night wind was about 25 out of the north we were hoping the wind would lay by noon but it was about 3 pm and it was nice,Fished with Mark and Charlie we caught some good bass mostly on brush hogs and 10 in worms we worked areas we could fish out of the wind Charlie got his mostly flipping along creek channels and later we hit some other spots the fishing was slow for falcon standards but we got about 15 bass but then Mark hooked on to the mega bass it almost pulled the rig out of his hands but Mark won that battle!! a 9 pound 10 oz HAWG!!!

That what makes this Lake so mush fun you just don't know what you are going to hook a 2 pound or a 12 pound bass on your next cast, when you fish here some times you catch lot's of fish and big ones but on slow days with frontal conditions you will still have fun and always will manage to hang a big one.

Falcon Lake is ranked #2 in Texas but to me is still number one,I am looking for a great season! so come on down to fish and enjoy a great lake, give us a call for reservations Thanks to all and good fishing!!!!

They will be fishing here for the next 5 months and there on a good start, hope every one that comes to fish Falcon will at least have chance at one of this Hogs,Winter Texans are slowly coming in to town my good friend and customer Charlie from the Dakotas is also in town he has been here for 3 weeks and his best bass so far is a 10 pound 6 oz Hog now this folk are after big fish and some days they don't catch as many but they are on the water almost every day.

With the lake level been high this fish are going to get "Big" we have a cold front coming and with the days getting shorter the bigger fish are going to get ready for winter, don't forget your heavy action rods when you come to Falcon lake.

Catfishing is good on punch bait and shrimp, chicken liver at bird roost,Crappie fishing is good under the town bridge along bridge pillings lots of folks are fishing for them as soon as they got here from up north. The white bass are still hard to catch but like the crappies they will show up soon, we had a ton of water from Lake Amistad and you know some whites and strippers came down with the current we have heard some folks catching some small mouth bass but not many up the Rio Grande.

November 1st 2010

Lake level is at 303.17 it's been holding there for the last 3 days water temp is at 79 to 81 by the afternoon the water in some areas looks like it wants to turnover but it wont happen till it cools down some more.

We had some good days fishing the Lake Fork 5.5 Magic shad and the fish are still relating to outside brush line next to creek channels if you find a road bed or brush close to a creek or creek bend wok it with a swimbait using heavy rod and heavy line our set up has been Power Tackle PG 104.5 7' 6" Heavy rod with 25 pound Seaugard line a 8/0 monster hook and lake fork swim baits in the watermelon red or watermelon red pearl.

Fabian and Benton fished with me on Friday and we had a great day lots of fish in the 5 to 8 pound and had some that were 16 to 18 in long but they were heavy. The lake is almost at the level back in 08 and the fishing then was out of control it was holding at 303 78 till march of that year,we are looking at the same for this coming season.

Falcon Lake is as it always been a great place! we been fishing and so has other folks and there is no reported incidents,we had a lot of calls about the situation on the lake and we are telling folks just stay on our waters and you are safe,it has no been taken over by pirates like it's been reported on the news,Zapata Texas and the U.S.A side of the lake are safe to fish and stay, if you want to fish Mexico Waters it's up to you.

If you would like to fish in November give us a call or email us for reservations thanks and good fishing.
