August 22nd 2010
The weather continues to get hotter and we had some windy days for the last three days, and it has also got the fish tight to cover and were not as active,we got some cloud cover yesterday and the fishing has not been so bad we been catching from 25 to 30 fish but on Friday it was slow with with the wind in the 20 to 30 mph and the high pressure it sure made it tough but on Saturday and today the fish just seemed to turn on, and it was on!!!! got most fish on mag lizards and lake fork craw tubes in 6 to 12 ft of water Texas Rigged and you have to fish slow. The Lake Level has come up and the fish are still going after the Talapia and they don't care if it's 4 in long or 8 in long they are going to eat them,The last three trips were with parents and there kids and that is my kind of trip, dont get me wrong i enjoy fishing with everyone but kids just have such a great time when they hang a Hawg and this fish almost pulled them in the water.took Jerry.Nick and Marrisa fishing today we had some good fish on and lot of the bigons just were to big to handle but hey landed some good ones Nick had a great day he landed this Toad all by himself and the he was on a roll and got some more 5 and 6 pounders to the boat.September is a great Month for big fish i still have some openings before Hunting season starts drop us a line or email for your next Falcon Lake adventure......

Falcon Lake fishing continues to get better with the heat in the 100 to 103 and the water temp at 92 deg the fish are just gorging them self wit bream and talapia that are about 3 to 5 inches long and when you find the fish and they are feeding you are in for some fun been catching a lot of fish in the 3 to 4 pound range and we also been hanging some toads mostly with plastic baits flukes ,jigs and some crank baits. The Lake level is at 300.80 and the best bite has been from 7 am to 10:30 am then you have to fish heavy brush with big jigs and heavy spinner baits in the blue gill pattern slow roll and bump brush for best results, there has not been any problems on the Lake we been fishing and we had nothing but fish to deal with and ones with an attitude, there are reports on T.V mostly every week and all they are reporting is old news that took place in May,we mostly fish U.SA side of the lake and the Mexico side looks calm with berry little activity.US Border Patrol are on the lake daily and as for Zapata this a friendly town with a lot of good folks just trying to make a living so if you want to fish give me a call we be glad to show you the action on Falcon Lake. The last three trips we had about 30 to 45 fish daily with some heavy 8 and 9's mostly solid 4and 5's took out Bubby Menard and hid son Zack we had 20 or so fish by 9 am and they were some chunks and then we did some flipping and got some good action.

Well the heat continues and the fishing is been good to some visitors from California,we got some cloud cover and the high pressure is moving on the fish are still been around 2 to 8 ft of water but the also are looking for some cool shade, flipping 3/4 to 1 oz jigs and creeture baits will get you some good results.Robert Ebel Jr and his buddy Jason Cordiale had a good day here at Falcon Lake with a 9 pound 1 oz Hawg and some solid 5 and 6'es.the lake is holding steady and a lot of bass are starting to bunch up under the flooded brush and a lot of those fish you can not get to and they are going to put on some pounds, let me know if you would like to bust some Bass and try some flipping action you got to drop it right down the middle of the tree and jig and jerk and reel all in that order. Thanks and we will see you on the Water......

August 11th 2010
The fishing the last 4 days has been good with a lot of bass in the 3 to 4 pound range the lake level is at 301.70 and the water temp is about 86 deg by the afternoon,we have been catching from 28 to 32 bass and most are solid but the big fish just got so mush perch and tilapia to eat and the high pressure for the last week got the big ones on stand by,but with the rain and a low coming our way things will get better for the big fish, we move a lot trying to locate the big ones and we cover a lot of water ,we had a few big ones on but they seam to know how to get off the hook, the Lake is full of fingerlings and shad and bream and the fish are going to grow fast!!! Big fish is a way of life here at Falcon Lake but let me tell you when you catch solid fish all day and you love to fish, it's all GOOD even in 102 deg weather......

There is a lot of people in town and are here to fish and a lot of them are having a great time, stayed in the store and worked ,it's so mush fun to see parents with there kids going fishing, the weather today was hot and the wind speed about 10 to 12 mph lake is at 303 and the people that has come by had a good day fishing, some had some 35 to 40 fish in 5 hrs of fishing, this moon phase is my best for catching big fish and numbers.Yesterday after i got back from a tour with my clients and i had a call from some anglers that was fishing at the public boat ramp and needed a scale, and i drove to the water and there was Oscar Caballero and his girl friend Brianna Mccain from Laredo Texas and Oscar had this 10 pound 04 oz hawgzilla on a crank bait and had the big fish in the water till i got there we took some pictures and he released the big girl,we take our hat off to Oscar for taking care of Falcon Bass and letting the big fish see another fighting day,and maybe some more bass from her next year,or she may be the new lake record some day!!!! THANKS Oscar.
