October 28th 2010
Water level continues to rise we are at 303.20 and the fish don't know how to act at the start of the month it was going down and the fish were been pulled out and were active now that the water is coming up it's pulling them tight and some are suspended, the shad are beginning to form big schools and we are starting to see them on the graph and a few cool days would help.

Fished with George Diaz and we had a fair day the fishing during a fool moon and high pressure some times makes fishing a challenge biggest was about 7 3/4 pound on a stick bait on a point, also fished yesterday for a few hours in the afternoon and had two good fish heavy 7 and a couple of 3 pound fish.

Lake fork 5.5 with a 7/0 monster hook, some big California swimbaits we were not looking for a lot of hookups just a monster bass, from now on i am going to trow this big baits in search of the lake record i know we have 15+ pound fish in our lake and the only way you can catch them is if the lake is way low or you throw giant baits we need a mega bass to give us some good press...

We want to welcome all the winter Texans that are coming to Zapata,my friend Terry Reynolds from Illinois is here and Jimmy and Debby Baker and the list goes on and on the big fish just keeps them coming back. Thanks Guys for your business .

November is only three days away the lake is till 2 feet over full the fish have more then they can eat and we are going to have a lot of over weight fish to deal with,Fall and winter in Falcon Lake i would not have it any other way. Thanks to all and good fishing...

October 21st 2010
I know a lot of people are looking and reading about the dangers of Falcon Lake, the only thing going on here is some nice weather and a lot of big fish.

All you see is 7 border patrol and Game Wardens to 1 bass boat on the lake there is maybe 10 to 15 boats on the water fishing on any given day the boat ramp is full of law enforcement and there has not been any incidents on the lake, like i said 7 to 1 ratio you think they are going to come on Texas waters and start trouble i don't think so.

Well lets get back to fishing, fished with Tommy and Billy Guerra on the 12th we landed a bunch of big fish by noon,Billy had a 8.10 monster and landed some other nice fish,Tommy started the day with a 6 pound hawg and then Billy hooked on to this big fish that was mean and angry we took some pictures and got her back in the water and we had a great day of fishing!!!!

The water level has leveled out and only has dropped a few inches the fish are just about any place you stop to fish,we did not fish deep just stayed in about 10 to 15 ft of water and all fish were on plastics Texas rigged..going to take Jerry and friends on my next trip we will keep you posted..

Come fish Falcon Lake this coming months the fishing will be GREAT!!!!!

October 18th 2010
Welcome to our blog.the water temperature is cooling down and the mornings are in the 60's the best fishing has been early around 7:30 am to 9:30 start off with lizards, brush hogs and mag flukes just let the fish tell you what they want on that day,we all tie differant baits and it's faster to pattern them.

Texas rigged or Carolina rig with a 1/2 oz weight fished from 10 to 15 ft will do the trick,if you don't get bit start slow rolling a 3/4 oz spinner bait in the shad or bream pattern till you locate a school.
I like to move out later in the day and start working that big blade in 20 to 30 ft and then switch over to the jig the fish are looking for craw fish protein to get them through the winter and they start looking a little orange to red around the mouth.

This fish will smoke that jig and it's on all it takes is on solid thump! and a quick hook set and it's fun.If you like to master or learn deep offshore fishing give me a call we are going to have a great season,we do it all on any given day and it's not over till you connect with a monster Bass here in Falcon Lake...Jessy had a 10 pound Hawg on hiperstick watermelon red....

October 13 2010
Falcon Bass fishing still great!!! Fished with Jack and Gaylon Toney for the last two days, landed a bunch of hawgs and some got away, fishing from 10 to 15 ft and 25 pound line to fight this toads they dont give up till you get them in the boat!the water level is still falling and the fish are starting to move and the offshore fishing will get better.

The water will start to cool and bait fish will move out and the big fish will be close by,the fish have been gorging them self all summer long and are so fat they look like they are about to spawn but is all fat!and will continue to feed till water temp slows them down a little but by December they are going to be like footballs.

We feel so bad for all that has happened on the Mexico side of the lake and that only gives Falcon Lake a bad name fished here many years and still feel safe on our waters ,and will still tell anglers to stay on our side.Fished today saw two bass boats and two Border Patrol boats and as long as you fish U.S.A side you will be ok.

If you need to hire a good guide for the first day to show you the lake and how it fishes,we have a lot of good guides on the lake.but don't fish Mexico waters till things get under control over there ,the next four months are going to be Awesome fishing!!! give me a call for your next Falcon Lake trip Thanks to all and good fishing!!

October 2nd 2010
Falcon Lake has had another incident on the Mexico side, and it' still been investigated by our law enforcement,we have not fished Mexico waters for about 6 months when thing were going down in the towns across the border,we stopped selling Mexico lic at that time also,i have been fishing U.S.A side and catching just as many or more fish then on the Mexico side.Falcon Lake is full of fish and it has none to little pressure so please call us or e mail us if you have any questions on fishing the U.S.A side or to book a trip.

Zapata is a small but friendly town great food and weather the lake is also one of the best places to fish! we don't stop driving down U.S Hwy 83 and we are not going to stop fishing the U.S.A side of the lake because Mexico is on the other side, like i said before on my blogs there are Game Wardens Coast Guard patrolling the lake and it's actually more security then before just stay on our waters.

Tomorrow am fishing with Mr Justin Furness and after this high pressure and a low on the way the fishing is going to be on,!!! we have been catching a lot of fish for the last two weekends and it only tells you of the good fishing to come this Fall, we will be on the water all week and we will be posting some more pictures of some Falcon Hawgs. The Texas Sharelunker Program started October 1st and we are the Official receiving station last season there were Two and both were brought back to the lake.Debbie Baker had a 13.2 monster December 19 2009 and Bryan Aubin had a 14.4 Hawgzilla on January the 19th.

Water level is still high at 304 and the water temp is starting to drop to low to mid 80's the fish have a forest to play in and the comerants[water turkeys] will have a hard time eating all of our fry,Catfishing around this birds is out of control they are nesting and when you find the roost you can load up the boat, shrimp punch bait and liver are the baits to use with a slip cork..Crappies are up to 16 in long and we had another great spawn.

2010 and 2011 season is going to be like no other we had a lot of big fish on 2009 and 2010 but with the water level this fish are going to be in great shape we are looking for some 16 to 17 pound Hawgs to being caught .drop us a line if you want to fish or e mail us for your next trip! thanks to all and good fishing.....
