ITS THAT TIME OF THE YEAR,COOL WEATHER AND TURKEY ON THE TABLE! WE WANT TO THANK EVERYONE FOR A GREAT YEAR AND YOUR SUPPORT AND FOR YOUR BUSINESS,AS WE GET CLOSER TO THE END OF THE YEAR WE ARE SO THANKFUL FOR EVERYTHING,THE LAKE LEVEL IS AT 283.48 AND WE ARE 18 FEET LOW WITH LOTS OF FLOODED BRUSH IN THE WATER,FISHING SHOULD EXPLODE IF THE LAKE STAYS UP A FEW MORE YEARS.WE NOW JUST OPERATE OUR RESTAURANT AND COOK  OUR FINE FOOD!BUT WILL START FISHING AGAIN WHEN I CAN, HOPE ITS SOON I HAVE FAITH THAT THINGS WILL TURN AROUND SOON HERE FOR US IN THE TOWN OF ZAPATA. WELCOME TO OUR BLOG! The weather is hot and the wind is still your friend here in falcon Lake we tend to talk about the heat and the wind but with out each of them it just would be the same,fish like the wind on those windy points and we fisherman gripe about it but it keeps us cool,big fish are still here and we starting to catch more of them big ones once again.the last five trips we had real healthy fish up to #10,14 oz ,lots of new things also at our restaurant.stop by when you want something good to eat,or give me a call if you want to fish for the fish of a life time!!!! 956-765-1442 or 956-236-6015,

APRIL IN ZAPATA! HOME OF FALCON LAKE

April is here and we want to thank all our customers for there support,It's been four years in March that we began this JOURNEY!! Cooking and taking people fishing it's a dream come true.Thank our Lord Jesus Christ and my wonderful family and friends for each day i get to do this.We began this in 2005 and it's now 2017 what a great time in my home town and lake!!!

Hawg season is here again!!!!!!

FALCON LAKE IS COMING BACK STRONG,FISHED A COUPLE OF DAYS THIS MONTH AND LANDED SOME MONSTER BASS AND WITH THE FALCON LAKE ATTITUDE HEAD SHAKERS KIND OF FISH EAT YOUR LUNCH IF THEY CATCH YOU NAPPING.ALSO WE HAVE MANY NEW THINGS COOKING AT OUR RESTAURANT SO IF YOU WANT TO LAND SOME FISH OR JUST HAVE SOME FOR DINNER COME BY AND SEE US THANKS FROM ROBERT'S FISH N TACKLE FAMILY. LOGAN HAMLETT AND GIRLS FRIEND SIDNEY HAD A GREAT DAY WE ALSO HAD OUR FRIEND AND LOGANS DAD  ALLEN AND BROTHER WITH US ON THAT MEMORABLE DAY AT THE LAKE, R.I.P ALLEN WE HAD A LOT OF GREAT DAY ON THE WATER..

IT'S BEEN A LONG TIME WAITING! BUT THINGS ARE LOOKING BETTER NOW WITH THE AMOUNT OF BASS WE HAVE IN THE LAKE LOT'S OF SWIMMERS OUT

THERE WITH A FEW MONSTER BASS,FISHING WILL BE ON FOR THE NEXT COUPLE OF YEARS.

WE BEEN BUSY RUNNING OUR NEW RESTAURANT AND THREE YEARS OF GOOD FOOD AND HARD WORK IT'S FINALLY COMING TOGETHER,IT'S BEEN A WAITING GAME MY WIFE AND I ARE EXITED ABOUT OUR BUSINESS AND AM READY TO START FISHING STRONG ONCE AGAIN NOW THAT WE HAVE THAT ESTABLISHED AND RUNNING SMOOTH.STOP BY AND GET SOME GET SOMETHING TO EAT WHEN YOU COME TO ZAPATA WE GOT THE PERFECT PLACE TO RELAX.

Lake level is at 271.49 water temp is at 62 degrease

and is about four feet lower then last year at this time,the  fish are starting to stage and are moving to back of some creeks the fishing is still good with a lot of 3,to 4 pound fish and a ton of small ones if you use a drop shot.I like bigger baits to target the bigger fish jigs brushhogs and spinner baits are working and also this is the time of year to fish them crank baits.We are ready for the up coming season so give me a call for reservations thanks and happy thanksgiving .

THE FISHING CONDITIONS HAS BEEN LIKE ANY OTHER SUMMER HOT AND WINDY AND NOT MANY FISHERMAN IN TOWN BUT GOOD THINGS ARE ON THE WAY IF WE GET SOME RAIN IN MEXICO. WE ARE STILL CATCHING SOME DECENT FISH AND WITH FALL JUST AROUND THE CORNER I AM GETTING HOG FEVER,LAST YEAR WE WERE LOW AND WE GOT ABOUT 12 FEET OF NEW WATER AND FISHING WAS NOT THAT BAD. OUR RESTAURANT HAS KEPT US IN BUSINESS THIS DOG DAYS OF SUMMER AND WE LOVE THE PEOPLE AND LOVE TO COOK FOR THEM.ZAPATA NEEDS THE TOURIST AND WE WILL HAVE THEM BACK AS SOON AS WE GET SOME WATER IN THE LAKE WE HAVE A TON OF LITTLE FISH AND MILES AND MILES OF BRUSH ALONG THE LAKE BOTTOM.  MY NEW BOAT IS READY FOR THE UP COMING SEASON, SO GIVE ME A CALL FOR RESERVATIONS.FALCON LAKE IS STILL THE KING OF LAKES WHEN IS LOW IS GOOD AND WHEN IT'S FULL IT PHENOMENAL! WELCOME IT'S BEEN HOT AND THE WIND 9IS THE ONLY THING KEEPING US COOL,THE FISHING IS STILL THE BEST IN THE COUNTRY WITH A LOT OF 13 TO 16 INCH FISH AND WE ARE STILL HOOKING UP WITH A BIG ONE OR TWO EVERY TIME WE GO OUT,THE WATER TEMPERATURE IS UP TO 88 DEGREASE BY NIGHT FALL AND THE FISH ARE BITING BETTER EVERY DAY DON'T LET THE GAR ALARM GET YOU THINKING THAT THERE IS NO FISH IN THE LAKE,WE HAD MANY GAR HERE FOR THE LAST 50 YEARS AND WHAT MAKES OR BRAKES THE LAKE IS THE WATER LEVEL IT WILL COME UP AGAIN AND WHEN IT DOES IT WILL BE A BIG BASS BONANZA ONES AGAIN BUT WE STILL HAVE SOME BIG FISH TO PLAY WITH FALCON LAKE IS NOT A NUMBERS LAKE IS A TROPHY LAKE WHEN THE WATER IS LOW.LAKE LEVEL IS AT 265.80 AND IT'S DROPPING FAST AND THE BRUSH CONTINUES TO GROW CREATING A BRAND NEW LAKE FOR US ALL ONCE AGAIN.OUR RESTAURANT IS A GREAT PLACE TO COME AND EAT AND EXCHANGE FISHING ADVENTURES AND A PLACE TO RELAX WITH FRIENDS AND FAMILY SO NEXT TIME YOU VISIT ZAPATA COME SEE US WHETHER IS FISHING OR HUNTING OR YOUR OUT FOR
